nazare jumping from the rocks

I had paddle at Nazare but always going out with a pwc from the harbor.

I know Garret always paddle from the beach and i was think do the same yesterday as the waves were not that big(posting photos from Pedro Mestre soon).

I got there and Sebastian Steudtner was all excited to jump from the rocks.

We did , but i was not that happy about it.

did not know what was under and was really scary about touch one rock under the water.

Favela Surf

I met Brazilian pro-surfer long time ago as my first surfboard sponsor Udo Bastos, When i was a kid is his sponsor.
After a while he was on the wqs tour and i was always seen him.
Did travel some times but most of the time hang with one of my best friend from Brazil too, Leo Neves.
I was checking videos with my daughter this morning and found this one.
Touch me and i am stoked to see him helping people from where he is from.

I think this left slab up north in Galicia will be a solid bodyboard destination and tow slab.

Kind hard to find.Even if you go at the  city you might know a local to get there.Jetgalica could be the best option..or tripsurf Galicia,

Locals boguies already had surf long time ago, but i think more and more pro-surfer will get to surf the place.

New kid on the block..BWWT,Natxo Gonzalez

I was in Ireland with a bunch of friend waiting for the swell.
I could not make for Punta Galea contest as i want to go.
But was a mission to make it.
Needed to go back home to Ericeira.
Get my big boards..and drive all the way up north Spain.
I pulled out!
I am stoke to see another kid name on big wave surfing.
And better than that following the paddling way.
More and more the world of surfer s going back this way and leaving the tow-in for big barrels only that you can not paddle in.
I think i do not know this kid, Natxo Gonzalez(he will have some great waves on the big wave world tour).

Tiago Pires increasing the high level of surf

I went all the way up to Peniche from Ericeira looking for waves.

Price of Portugal, Tiago Pires was busy some where but said he wish go surf.

For me was nice, cause from the beginning of the winter i never try my 6,1 Rob Vaughan Billabong surfboard.

We end up surfing the bay of Peniche.Some funny waves.I had try one left first, not good at all and met Tiago in the middle of the beach.

When i wa spaddling there he got a sick barrel..

Not wide as many other spots in POrtugal, but very hard to make it and he used a sick technique to be able to get out the barrel. 

My 6,1 was so small in my feet that i was kind a crazy no rail surfer sometimes..

Good fun!

Tom Butler

Met Tom at Mullagmore last year.

From that the kid is always pushing himself on big surf.

Went to Chile, rode some big barrels paddling..got one sick one at Nazare paddling another day..

Nowadays, he is sponsor less but i know with such big potential some sponsor will come soon!

Crazy moment.

I was on the boat a bit sea sick when life guard, jetgalicia founder Bruno Novoa had call me all stressed ..

_change fast..we are on intervention...one guy disappear and they found his buoy.

We get there in the middle of the rocks where no boats could go and when he got the buoy only a fish came out..

I was so stressed to find a dead body that i start to think..what i am doing here..

In the end the guy was on a Spanish boat... did not speak spanish and was all good.

Nazare giant..

I just arrive home and watch all this big day at Nazare coming every where on internet.
I could not make it as my partner is at panama on a surf trip and you really need experience drivers out to Nazare.
Here to big ones from the day.I wish could see another angle from Antonio´s waves.
Garret angle is amazing.
