family

My grand father took the whole family to Brazil in late's 50"s.He was a instrumental engenieer and went to there for build a new company.loved the place and never cameback to France.

He was before that French marine army engineer and a really good sailer and a sea lover.

My dad Patrick H. R. Rebiere met my lovely mother in the same city that my dad's father and her father had chosen .A sea lover,like his dad,show me the way to the water when we lived on the beach.I used to dive with my sister by our self, when we were 4 and 6.

2000 and 2002 European champ.

99':i finished 3rd.i could make one more contest and fight for the title but i chose to go to a 6* in brazil.

2001:runner up

2005:second again.Close friend Patrick Beven(at the picture with me) beat me in the last event and won the title.

Waimea wipeout

That day the buoy was 25feet/22sec.
Was one of the first times i had surf Waimea.
That year, i think 2002 was a really good season with many big swells.
I was ridding one magic 10'6" from Vincente (Danilo's Couto shaper)
This is the first wave of the video...
That wave came on a wrong direction and everyone was paddling over it.
As i was going to paddle over it too my buddy and good friend Joao de Sonis told me to go..
_Go go go it's a bomb and nobody is going!
I turn around think i could make it on a fly take off.
When you have a good board on your feet you always think crazy thing are possible.
I landed on the bottom of the wave and felt on my back.
went over the falls and hit hard almost dislocating my shoulder.
But could come back and keep surfing with my bros and the great ambiance Waimea has.

la Toxica.Galicia Spain.surfing new slabs

this day the waves were a bit storm.cloudy and swell was growing fast.

i padled out by my self between to rocks,8 feet large behind the pic.

8 foot set almost smashed me on the rocks i made and went to the pic.

got 2 waves and 12 foot sets were starting to break and really hard to padle in cause rocks are very close to the take off.i got one more wave and left.when i was on the rocks a local boy bodyboarder,el pasteleiro,arrived. told him to don't padle out but he said new the spot.

he tried to go at the same way that i did,but a 12 foot set smashed him and pushed him to the clif under the pic.we lost him for ten minutes.we all were crying .Boardculture rep(tanaka) and local guy who took me there was calling the cops and crying. pastelerio came from no were in the midle of the clif.the waves smashed him on a cave that we didn't know and he survived.

Toxica is one of my destination for this winter.(padle and tow in)
