Viana do Castelo city surf.locals secret spot

The line up outside was a nice double up right.Not every wave was on the perfect spot and i knew after from Ricardo ,one of the oldest surfer to ride the spot that was to small and he never had surf on low tide..all wrong,,,,The paddle out was beautiful..with some nice lagoons and mussel rocks and gooseneck barnacles..

Local boy Fabiano from the local surfshop was stoked in the water as he is always is outside..

I didn´t really got barreled..some late take off into but nothing crazy..hope will be another chance soon!

Influence-Old school

When i was a little kid i remembered this day as many of the locals boys back where i used to lived came to this one guy house.
He was a completely fan of Occy.
His room had poster of him everywhere.
He had long hair and is a shame we don´t have any video from that time cause i will be stoked to compare the surf and style he did back in the days like occy.
The day i am talking about it the usually 10 guys+ was there as everyday as any small tow.
the were always moving together for surf,party,...
Th ebig moment of the morning was to watch the movie he had.
don´t remembered if was the first time to than but for me was and i could pay more attention than what i was watching to the end of the movie.
Not only me, the whole pack of crazy guys that was always doing crazy things was concentrate for once on the movie.
this is the Reunion island part, one of my favorites one.
No shark back in the days!

Teaching tow-in

My friend Cristian Perez might be the best surfer around Vigo area.

For me!

As he always charge when wave sis hollow and we been surfing together for a while now as he is my wife´s friend from the teenager time.

I am stoked to teach him, cause i think know one know f3 better than him and i hope he can surf any other waves in Galicia soon ..

most than that the outers reefs!

Joao Neiva, another friend form Moledo will be around too and as Cristian he is the best surfer up that area for me..so a nice teaching day but for good surfers!!

Vigo for baby!

New baby is almost here..

We d move from Ericeira to Vigo to have the family support.And as i am not surfing that much i found a nice gym just down stair and putting some energy on it!

Nice swell coming and i might try a new big wave by Oia next wednesday.

finished surfing 2 waves at Super Tubos..
Crazy close out and back to Ericeira surf on local spot in town.
The good slab in between those citys was too small..next time!

Brazilian Jiu-jitsu at Ericeira

One of the best news i had when i was moving to Ericeira was that Former world champ and long time friend Ze MArcelo was coming too to open a new Academy here at the Moskova tatame.

Learning with Ze is nice, cause he is so good that een when you doing a serious fight on the end of the training he is telling you what you doing wrong, make you do good and start from the position you should be.

It s amasing like that and make me want to go more often!

One day i might change my white belt!

Gooseneck barnacles session at La toxica surf

barreling Galicia

Just back home from 5 days no stop on the road.
Left home tuesday for 8 h drive up north to ¨rias altas¨first secret stop to this barreling trip on Galicia.
Got there and could check the waves from up on the hill and was flat.
With me, charger kid Alex Botelho.
Always humble and polished..and always ready to surf any wave any where on any size.
W e met there with Surfeurope photographer and friend Alex Laurel and Mathieu.
Life guard and surfer.
Went to sleep with that image of a clean ocean but a bit small.
All gone next morning when we did check the waves and was pumping.
We decided to tow, cause was a dry reef and after when the day was over we were both think we could paddle on one close wave from the one we surf that might could be able for some good stuff.
Next morning we drove all the way back to Baiona/Oia to surf la selvage or f3.
I d call local boy and crazy surfer Cristian Perez who did confirm will be good and Alex got a full on session for him as he did not know how to drive yet (first time tow-in, but we will work o it), and a did put him on a bunch of waves.
Next morning way up north again to Coruña to la toxica.

The bar for tapas i use to go and they start to know me..good vibe.

The new slab..

Had a talk to Locals pastelero and Fran Aguilar and both said good but good.
was not the perfect but some funny wypeouts and pull ins.
Stoked about this short trip and more than that , we did see some crazy outer reef for a future paddle mission and we will be back soon only with the big boards to do it.
As swell are no stop now in Europe.
