Surf club Cabo Frio

Spent the weekend surf this amateur contest in Cabo Frio.

A litle tow clsoe to where i grew up.

Local boy Victor Ribas, former wt surfer and best Brazilian on tour ever invited me to go.

I won the open division and saw many friends that i knew long time ago when i used to surf around this region.Big swell for next friday and looks really good for the best spot that i used to surf when i was a brom.

Perfect left..

Funny storys I

I will start to tell some stores that did happen with me in the past.
Maybe one day even myself will not remember this and will be stoked to ready and reminder.
This first one is about one story of my cousin that came to spend some times with me in Canarys.
I had just buy the house and he came from Brazil to live a while with me.
He is a big guy around 1,85m and now he is one of the Brazilians jim-jitsu black belt that live around the world teaching this nice conduct.

Well, one day when we were sleeping, he start to call me:
_ Eric, come come!
_What you want,let me sleep! i answered.
_There is a spirit in my room(that wash´t really a room.I just had buy the hose and was a crazy place with old doors to outside, no kitchen, no toilet, nothing.)
_shut up man..go sleep, stop bullshit!
_No way, i will come sleep with you.
_no chance man(i was sleeping in a single bed inside a camping tent)
_Come see this, i am tell you,there is a spirit.
_I got there and he was inside his covers like those scary movies when kids are scary and stay under the covers.So funny!
_what s your problem?There is no sports , g sleep.
He wasn´t movie and sign with his finger not even showing his heady out , point the place where the suppose spit was.
I start to looking for some answer and i did found this row on the door that was giving a funny air when struggle by this tiny row.
Straight to him and really give him a shit chicken skin feeling.
I start to laugh and after show him we were both laughing..

Rio

I ve been in Rio for a week now.
I really screw up this day in Ilha Mae, this perfect slab other side of Rio city.
I did go next day and ight have one nice wave but the real sizable the i miss it.
Hope will be another chance cause looks a lot like my spots that i had surf a lot in Galcia.
Sucking perfect right!

Had surf this, that day ,but my mind was at the day before.

Was a wrong day wind but after surf this i could think was easy 20 feet the day before.Just the wind was really bad.Strong on shore.Had saw some forecast that showed bigger and no wind.

Might be a good big paddling wave in Europe.

Punta de Lobos,Pichilemu.Chile

just got in Punta de Lobos,Pichilemu, Chile and frst thing, srush and phone with airfrance.No boar yet and maybe arriving today.4 days after and no more swell.Find my old board that i left here last year.Bard that i brke before the heat training.I still reme,ber asking Greg Long, one of my idols:_Hey buddy, thing i have time to surf before the heat?he answered_for sure.  And i padleout dark time, got one nice one, got smashed and broke my only board.left this same board with one buddy that i met in France long time ago and lives here now,Paulista and i am stoked tha the is here , fixed the board and i could surf. Diego Medina lend me one wetsuit and gloves..

Easy padle out following local Brazilian guy who lives here and show me the way.15 years old and  a long future in front.

Firt day when i arrived was beautefull.Crazy sunset and maybe the biggest time of the swell.piss didn´t have a board.

Las bajas.have been surf this for long time.Most of the time paddling and now tow-in and step of.

Jsut cause the peak moves a lot and you can get a barrel in every single set.It s a long way out too.

m&m surf trip.mavs and mully

my first time at Mavericks and a second at Mullaghmore.
both spot i think i didn´t really got one crazy one.
Mavs i will be back for sure and try to charge more and Mully i shouldn´t had surf at th low ide.
